Objectives
- To support prosthetic production.
- To help disabled people to access daily comfort.
- To bring happiness to supporters.
- To create cooperation among Rotary Clubs and local communities in helping disabled ones.
Current situation
- People discard empty milk bottles, aluminum cans and used panty hose along with household garbage causing tremendous amount of non-degradable garbage.
- Those non-degradable garbage prevents top soil water from running to the soil below leading to drought and seasonal flood. The situation is getting worse each year.
- Many disabled people need prosthetics to be able to run their normal daily living.
Operation
- Set a campaign to collect clean, used milk bottles and aluminum cans.
- Ask for ladies’ donation of clean used stockings.
- Deliver the milk bottles, aluminum cans and used stockings to Prosthetic Foundation under the Patronage of Princess Galayani Wattana in order to be used in prosthetic production.
Expected results
- People stop throwing used milk bottles and aluminum cans into the bin, along with household garbage.
- Women start to donate used stockings.
- Environmental condition is improved, esp. top soil moisture increases.
- Reduction of tragedy due to seasonal flood or drought.
- Disabled people can access appropriate prosthetic enabling them to gain more comfort in daily living.
- Cooperation among Rotarian and local communities in being supportive to disabled ones.
