Objectives
- To campaign for pollution reduction (from used cooking oil) in water sources
- To improve environmental condition, esp. soil and water sources
- To obtain alternative fuel when needed
Current situation
- People dump used cooking oil into drainage causing water pollution and unpleasant smell.
- Necessary fuel needed for living is getting less and less each day.
Operation
- Campaign to have people collect used cooking oil in appropriate container, such as used cooking oil bottle, instead of dumping it into the drain.
- Use the collected used cooking oil as starting material in demonstrating biodiesel production.
- Invite Rotary Clubs and local communities to join the project.
Expected result
- People stop dumping used cooking oil into the drain.
- Water sources are gradually less polluted from used cooking oil.
- People have alternative fuel (biodiesel) when needed.
- Cooperation among Rotary Clubs and local communities in creating public awareness of possible harm reduction in water sources resulting in sustainable happiness for all.
